Bencubbin Primary School: A Supportive Learning Community
At Bencubbin Primary School we are proud to offer a high quality education in a small school setting where every child is known, supported and encouraged to succeed. Located in the heart of the Wheatbelt, our school is closely connected to the local farming community and surrounding district. Strong relationships between families, staff and the wider community create a welcoming and supportive environment for learning.
Our school provides a personalised approach to education. With small class sizes and dedicated staff, students benefit from individual attention and carefully structured teaching that supports both academic growth and wellbeing. Our teachers use evidence-based programs and explicit teaching practices to build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy across all year levels.
In the early years we implement the MultiLit suite of programs to support reading development and early literacy skills. As students move through the school they continue to build confidence and independence through structured learning, targeted support and opportunities for extension. Students who demonstrate high ability can also access the Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) program.
Reading is a strong focus at Bencubbin Primary School. Our recently refreshed library provides a welcoming and engaging space where students can explore a wide range of contemporary texts and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Our music program is a valued part of school life and has recently been expanded. Students enjoy regular opportunities to learn about music, participate in performances and develop confidence through creative expression.
Technology supports learning across the curriculum. Students have access to modern laptops and iPads which are used to enhance learning, develop digital skills and support research, creativity and collaboration.
Students also benefit from a wide range of learning experiences beyond the classroom. Camps, sporting opportunities, cultural activities and whole-school events help students build confidence, teamwork and resilience. Our well-maintained grounds include shaded play areas and a junior nature play space with a fort, cubby, bike path and grassed areas for active play.
Our School Council and Parents and Citizens Association play an important role in supporting the school and strengthening community partnerships. Their ongoing involvement helps enrich student opportunities and ensures the school continues to grow and evolve.
At Bencubbin Primary School we work together to create a positive, inclusive environment where every child is supported to learn, grow and thrive.
