Education Support Centres' Early Intervention Program for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
The Education Support Centres offer early, intensive behavioural intervention programs based on contemporary Applied Behaviour Analysis for small groups of kindergarten and pre-primary aged children who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The program is designed and resourced for students who meet the following criteria:
1. Student has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and meets age requirements specified for kindergarten and pre-primary aged students.
2. Parents intend the child to attend mainstream Year 1 at their local public school.
3. Parents demonstrate willingness to follow through target skills taught with further practice and application at home.
4. Formal education support placement procedures have been completed in accordance with the Department's enrolment policies, and the referral has approval from the relevant district advisory committee.
