School-Based Programs

Embracing Tablet Technologies
The school is investing heavily in upgrading infrastructure and resources so that it can embrace tablet technology with children in the classroom. All classrooms have an Interactive Whiteboard and a group set of iPads.

Instrumental Music
With links to Busselton SHS a visiting teacher provides instruction in wind instruments each week for students in Year 5 and 6. Students are offered places at the end of Year 4 and if they accept they are expected to commit to continued studies in this area from Year 5 into high school.

Little Dolphin Play Group (0 to 3 years)
The school hosts a play group on Thursdays in our Kaaka Baaka room. These are voluntary groups with the school providing venue and resources as support.

LOTE - Indonesian
A language and cultural program involves all students in Years 2 - 6 classes with up to 80 minutes of Indonesian per week.

Online Learning Support (Mathletics)
To support parents/carers with home learning the school provides access to online learning programs.

Physical Education (PE) Specialist Classes
All of our K to Year 6 students participate in weekly Physical Education lessons that are facilitated by a PE Specialist Teacher. Students enjoy representing our school at a variety of Interschool Sporting events throughout the year. Swimming lessons for Year 1-6 occur in Term 1 with lessons held at the beach. Pre-primary lessons are held in Term 4 at the Geographe Leisure Centre.

School Chaplain
The School Chaplain is involved across the school community with students and classes from Kindergarten to Year 6 in a variety of roles. The Chaplain promotes a caring community through her work with students, parents and staff and builds links to other groups and services in the area. The School Chaplain provides pastoral care. Participation in the Chaplaincy Program is voluntary and parents/guardians can choose for their child/children to opt out of the program.

Science of Reading
With a focus on comprehension and fluency all students are supported by their classroom teachers and trained education assistants to improve their reading. Students are grouped according to reading ability, so progress can be tracked and all students catered for daily.
