South Ballajura Education Support Centre (ESC) is an Independent Public School providing quality education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with diagnosed disabilities. Co-located with South Ballajura Primary School, we share a strong partnership as one connected campus, fostering belonging, inclusion, and shared opportunities for all students.
Our school community reflects the rich cultural diversity of the Ballajura area. We are committed to providing a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every student is valued and supported to achieve their personal best. Students engage in highly individualised learning programs that build essential skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, social competence, and emotional regulation. Each student's goals are co-designed with families and allied professionals through Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that reflect their strengths, priorities, and aspirations.
Teaching and learning at South Ballajura ESC are underpinned by contemporary, evidence-based practices including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and trauma-informed approaches. Our staff are skilled in differentiated instruction, assistive technology integration, and functional life skills development. Staff collaborate closely through professional learning communities to analyse data, review progress, and plan for improvement â ensuring every student is known, understood, and supported to grow.
Family and community partnerships are central to our success. Our Family Liaison Officer, School Board, and strong connections with local agencies, therapy providers, and neighbouring schools ensure wraparound support for students and their families. Parents are welcomed as partners in their child's learning journey, with open communication and opportunities for collaboration embedded throughout the school year.
Our facilities are purpose-built and continually evolving to meet the diverse sensory and physical needs of our students. Inclusive playground design, sensory spaces, and adaptive learning environments support engagement and wellbeing.
