Sir David Brand School (6020)

School Overview

Sir David Brand School is a specialist K-12 school dedicated to supporting students with disabilities. Conveniently located in Coolbinia, just 6 kilometres from the Perth CBD, our extensive bus catchment area spans from Trigg to North Fremantle in the west, and from East Perth to Inglewood in the east.

Nestled beside Yokine Reserve and adjacent to Coolbinia Primary School, our campus is enriched by the surrounding parklands. This natural setting provides a valuable outdoor learning environment, enhancing student engagement and wellbeing through meaningful connections with nature.

At Sir David Brand School, we work in close partnership with families and key stakeholders to empower our students to lead Rich Full Lives. Our focus is on nurturing resilience, independence, and a strong sense of community from the early years through to adulthood.

We are committed to developing the personal and social attributes that lay the foundation for lifelong wellbeing. Our goal is to ensure every student is well-prepared to take their next steps into further education, employment, training, or leisure with confidence and capability.

With a strong educational focus, we deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences grounded in evidence-based best practices. Our small class sizes, specialist teachers, and dedicated education assistants across all phases of schooling allow us to provide a targeted, differentiated curriculum aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.

We foster a rich social environment tailored to individual learning needs, ensuring holistic planning that builds on each student's strengths and successes.

Teachers focus on positive education principles to promote key expectations in all classes. Daily instruction incorporates additional supports for all students designed to help them become as autonomous as possible and includes:
