School Overview

Manjimup Education Support Centre (Manjimup ESC) is an Independent Public School dedicated to providing high-quality education for students with diverse learning needs. Our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments (vision and hearing), and/or autism spectrum disorders.

At Manjimup ESC, we are committed to delivering personalised learning programs that recognise each student's individual strengths and aspirations. We work closely with families and support agencies to develop tailored pathways that prepare our students for vocational opportunities and independent living. We believe parents and families are pivotal partners in their child's educational journey, and we actively foster positive relationships through both formal and informal processes to ensure we meet the unique needs of each student.

With over 30 years of experience serving families in the Warren Blackwood region, Manjimup ESC currently supports 31 students. Our small class sizes, averaging seven students per group, allow us to provide intensive staff support and create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Manjimup ESC is a 'school within a school', sharing its campus with Manjimup Primary School and Manjimup Senior High School. This unique setting allows our students to engage with their peers and the broader school community while still receiving targeted, individualised support. Each student has a personalised education plan designed to build their capabilities, with a strong focus on developing Literacy and Numeracy skills, ensuring each individual is equipped to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. We are dedicated to helping our students develop the confidence and skills to contribute positively to their local community.

Our high school students participate in meaningful work placement programs designed to build employability skills, character, and resilience. Through these programs, students gain independence and teamwork skills, often working alongside industry mentors to develop practical experience in real-world environments.

As an ASDAN-registered school, we offer accredited learning programs for our high school students that are tailored to suit their individual needs and aspirations. These structured programs focus on developing life skills, vocational competencies, and independence, ensuring our students are well-prepared for life beyond school. We take great pride in our reputation for delivering high-quality education to students with complex and high support needs. Our core priorities are Communication, Literacy, and Positive Behaviours. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and specialist environment where students are encouraged to move 'Forward with Confidence'.
