Yarralinka Primary School (5866)

School Overview

Yarralinka Primary School is located in the growing community of Southern River and currently caters from Kindergarten- Year 2; with expansion to Year 6 to occur in 2023. All students have the potential to achieve big things, which is why we place a strong focus on developing all aspects of a child- social, emotional, physical and academic. We work on the understanding that this can only be achieved through collaboration and authentic community partnerships. Everyone at our school - from the principal to the cleaning team- takes on the responsibility of building relationships with students and families in a respectful and culturally responsive manner.

We support students to build sound social skills and achieve academic goals. They have opportunities to apply what they have learnt to real life situations, and our dedicated staff put an incredible amount of effort and creativity into the experiences they organise within our classes. At Yarralinka Primary School our staff work as a cohesive team with a collective responsibility for the progress of all students. Our curriculum programs are built upon using consistent high, quality teaching strategies across all classrooms.

Our students take pride in who they are as people, feel confident being themselves and build lasting friendships. We aim to develop highly engaged children with the skills to live and work in a rapidly changing world. Central to this is ensuring your child gains the right skills - critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, communication and citizenship- whilst ensuring they have a strong foundation of literacy and numeracy skills and understandings.

Our school has state-of-the art facilities, with every classroom having current technologies. We also have a purpose-built library. Playground facilities are centred on a natural play environment, reflecting the local Southern River area, which challenges children to explore and test their capabilities in a safe, fun and challenging way. Stage 2 construction will see additional classroom blocks, grassed sporting fields, a large, enclosed undercover area and hard courts added to our current onsite facilities.
