Boyare Primary School (5718)

School Overview

Our school community embraces our motto, 'Learning Together' by developing independent learners with the skills and knowledge to become productive, happy and fulfilled members of an ever-changing world.

We are committed to building a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, which gives our students the confidence to strive for excellence in other areas of the curriculum and be critical thinkers who are innovative and independent learners, ready to enter secondary school.

A strong focus is placed on academic achievement with priorities in literacy and numeracy. 'English as an additional language or dialect' students, are a major consideration in all our programs. Specialist teachers in literacy and numeracy support remedial and extension teaching programs, and individual planning is integral to the success of students at risk.

We are committed to developing each child's potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Our school community is united in teaching the values that enable our students to lead in the development of a harmonious and inclusive, multicultural society.

Over 75% of our students have a language other than English, as their first language with over 28 different first languages identified. Besides English, the major languages spoken are Arabic, Somali, Vietnamese and Oromo. We celebrate and embrace this cultural diversity every day and through major events.

We have a range of specialist programs in the areas of The Arts, Physical Education and Languages (Noongar), Science and Technologies. Our students have the opportunity to take part in other school activities, which include lego club, reading club, STEM club and the student council.
Boyare is a 'Six Kinds of Best School' and places emphasis on social learning and values education. The Student Services Team at Boyare Primary School uses a collaborative problem-solving approach to provide a wide range of services to members of the school community.

We have strong links with our parent community, with a proactive Parents and Citizens Association and School Council.

We are located in the suburb of Mirrabooka, approximately 14 kilometres northeast of the Perth CBD.
