Boyare Primary School is at the heart of our vibrant and supportive community. We opened in 1991 and have a diverse range of students with a wide variety of cultures represented throughout the school community with over 75% English Second Language and 12.5% Aboriginal learners. We are located in the suburb of Mirrabooka, approximately 14 kilometres northeast of the Perth CBD.
As a school, we continually reflect on and refine our practice to ensure we deliver high quality, evidence-based programs that meet the needs of our diverse community. Our curriculum and approach are enriched by frameworks such as Six Kinds of Best, the Berry Street Education Model, and Walker Learning, which together foster a caring, purposeful, and engaging learning environment. These approaches help students build strong character, regulate their emotions, develop curiosity, and learn through authentic, hands-on experiences.
We are committed to building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, empowering our students to explore excellence across the curriculum. Our specialist programs in Digital Technologies, Science, Health and Physical Education, The Arts, and Noongar Language provide students with diverse opportunities to expand their knowledge, creativity, and skills. These specialist areas ignite curiosity, encourage innovation, promote healthy lifestyles, and support students to explore cultural understanding through language.
The health and wellbeing of our students is central to all that we do. Through trauma informed practices, social emotional learning frameworks, and carefully embedded regulation strategies, we create a calm and nurturing environment where students feel ready to learn. The Berry Street Education Model supports strong relationships, predictable routines, and an understanding, strengths based approach to supporting each child. We believe optimal achievement comes from an inclusive environment built on trust, connection, and high expectations.
Walker Learning further enriches our early childhood and primary years by offering developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning that promotes independence, engagement, and a love of discovery. These approaches work alongside the Six Kinds of Best.
Students also have access to a wide range of clubs and activities during break times, providing additional opportunities for enrichment, social connection, and exploration of personal interests within a supportive setting.
Boyare Primary School values strong community partnerships. We are supported by a Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and a proactive School Council that work collaboratively with the school to enhance programs, strengthen decision making, and contribute to ongoing school improvement.
