Oberthur Primary School (5621)

School Overview

Oberthur Primary School (est. 1979) is situated in the sought after suburb of Bull Creek, which was traditionally known as 'Gabbiljee' to local Whadjuk Aboriginal people of the Noongar country. At Oberthur Primary School we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning through our school vision of 'Every student, every classroom, every day, inspiring futures'. Our school is committed to four core principles which are embedded throughout the school: Opportunity, Belonging, Innovation and Community. At Oberthur Primary School we believe in preparing our students for life, celebrating diversity and ensuring that everyone feels included in the school community. We believe there are endless possibilities for our students and we provide a learning program where students have the freedom and empowerment to create and be themselves.

Oberthur Primary School is committed to excellence in achievement and progress. Our teachers are experts at identifying and building upon student knowledge and skills. Teachers use data effectively to plan and differentiate the curriculum and provide opportunities for students. Our school is a 'Visible Learning' school where students play an active role in their learning progression and student voice is valued.

Our school has an embedded Chinese Immersion Program from Pre Primary to Year 6 and students engage in the delivery of Chinese Language, Science and Measurement & Geometry curriculums in Mandarin. We believe this program provides benefits to brain development and is a testimony in part to our high levels of achievement. Our school also provides specialist teaching in Physical Education and Music.

Oberthur Primary School is well equipped with technology and develops digital citizenship. Students engage in the 'Bring Your Own Device' program using iPads in Years 1 to 3 and MacBooks in Years 4 to 6. Each classroom contains an interactive screen for use by teachers and students.

Our school is highly valued by the local community and is a 'school of choice' for parents. We have a school chaplain to support the school and there is strong community participation in the School Board and P&C Association.

We are a proud public school with a long standing history of providing excellence in education and pastoral care.
