School Overview
|
'The most important thing in life is to stop saying 'I wish' and start saying 'I will'. Consider nothing impossible, then read possibilities as probabilities.' Charles Dickens
Trayning Primary School is located in the Ballardong Noongar region in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. We are 243kms from Perth CBD situated on the Nungarin-Wyalkatchem Road, 149kms from Northam and 72kms from Merredin.
We take pride in our approach to teaching and learning, and we are committed to a culture of high achievement and providing opportunities of experiencing success for Every Student, in Every Classroom, Every Day.
The school motto 'Building our Dreams' identifies our goal to instil in our children a love of learning, a desire for knowledge and for taking steps to create successful futures. The schools' values Relationships, Achievement, Responsibility and Respect (RARR) cultivates positive attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that guide us in the choices we make to support a safe and inclusive environment.
We pride ourselves on having strong relationships with other schools in our region, joining with them to participate in many educational events. Hosting incursions and excursions such as sporting events, swimming, athletics and cross country as well as incursions and excursions like Musica Viva, Science Week and RUOK days, our students have the opportunity to meet and socialise with other students at these schools.
Trayning Primary School has a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing. We are a mentally healthy school with our students participating in Open Parachute - a mental health skill-building program that uses peer voices to build resilience and wellbeing in students and educators. Our school chaplain provides pastoral care to all our students and their families and assists us with our Breakfast Club. Our school is also a member of Be You and Act Belong Commit.
Our partnership with Real Schools on the implementation of 'Restorative Practice' continues to maintain a great school culture where we aim to be one percent better every week. This positive impact on our students, staff, and community inspires a sense of belonging where everyone feels valued. We embrace all members of our community and strive to maintain a nurturing and welcoming environment.
Our Parents, School Council and P&C are integral to our community, and together we are committed to providing the best for our students.
