The school was built in 1956 and introduced an Intensive English Centre (IEC) in 2005. Nollamara Primary School is a Level 4 school with a student enrolment of around 440 students and caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Nollamara staff provide a safe, supportive and consistent learning environment for students by embracing evidence-based pedagogies across teaching and behaviour management. With Positive Behaviour Support as a school-wide strategy our students are explicitly taught our REACH goals of Respect; Excellence; Acceptance; Compassion and Honesty. All staff have been coached in Explicit Direct Instruction to ensure high standards in the delivery of literacy and numeracy programs.

The staff and school leaders at Nollamara recognise and embrace the diverse cultures and backgrounds of our students and their families. With 80% of our students across the school having a first language other than English, we cater for students who hold both permanent and temporary residence status. Staff acknowledge the value of the wider community and promote meaningful relationships and partnership to enrich the school culture. Our Intensive English Program caters for 110 students and is fully integrated throughout our school.

Nollamara has excellent facilities to cater for students educational, social and physical needs. We have a large oval for general play and sporting activities, as well as basketball courts and cricket nets. The school has a large library, science laboratory, undercover area and student services hub. Technology is utilised and supported in every classroom. With specialist teachers in art, music, sport, science, oracy and French, as well as an extensive Student Services Team consisting of a Community Support Worker, Student Wellbeing Officer, Aboriginal Education Officer, Multicultural Liaison Officer and a School Psychologist, students are given the best opportunity to succeed.
