Beachlands Primary School (5032)

School Overview

Beachlands Primary School was opened in 1956 and is the smallest of the government schools within the City of Greater Geraldton.

Our vision at Beachlands Primary School is to provide a committed, safe, caring and respectful environment where students are engaged to achieve their full potential.

Currently 125 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 enjoy our wonderful school and everything we have to offer. Our school programs, including our intervention programs, ensure students are supported and engaged in their learning. We encourage every student to be their 'Beachlands Best'.

Our school values: Be Caring, Be Respectful and Be Responsible underpin our relationships and how we interact with all members of our school community. We have high expectations for student behaviour and attendance, and many reward initiatives to encourage students to maintain their good standing.

At Beachlands Primary School we partner with our families to ensure our school meets the needs of our community. We have many pastoral care initiatives to support students and their families. We are fortunate to offer on our school site a 3-year-old KindiLink program, specifically designed for pre-school students and their parents.

Our school values the culture of First Nations People. We acknowledge and learn our local Aboriginal history, including Wajarri language and On-Country experiences. Our staff are culturally responsive in their approach, providing students with high quality learning opportunities in an inclusive environment. We were thrilled to be awarded for Best Practice in Innovation in the 2022 IPPA awards for our language and on country STEM approaches.

Staff at Beachlands Primary School are highly motivated, passionate educators. We believe we can make a difference to students and work to ensure our teaching and learning programs are evidence based and supported by research.

Our staff utilise an explicit teaching model, ensuring new skills are scaffolded for students to obtain mastery. We expect all students to be engaged in their learning and differentiate our approaches to support this. We offer core curriculum subjects, as well as offering Music, Physical Education, Drama, Visual Art, Dance and Wajarri Language.

We welcome you to our school and look forward to working with you in the best interests of your child.

Every Child, Every Chance!
