THE QUALITY PATHWAY TO UNIVERSITY FOR INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL STUDENTS

Canning College has been preparing students to achieve entry into Australia's best universities since 1982. As a specialist international education institution, it has established a strong reputation for providing local and overseas students with the personal and academic development and pathways required to succeed in tertiary studies.

In the five years from 2019, the College's expert staff focused exclusively on providing pathway-to-university programs for international students. From 2024, while focus on international students continues, Canning College resumes the enrolment of local (or domestic) students seeking entry to university primarily through WA Certificate of Education ATAR courses.

Flexible entry points into Canning College's academic pathway programs allow international students to start studying in January, April and mid-year, which gives them the opportunity to enter university degree courses sooner. College staff are experienced in providing care, support and academic guidance to students to help them prepare better for the rigours of tertiary studies.
Local and international students may enrol in Canning College's Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 programs. International students can also seek to complete the Certificate IV in University Access Program, Diploma of Commerce, and the Western Australian Universities' Foundation Program (WAUFP). Local students who have completed fewer than two years of their secondary school education in Australia may also be eligible to complete studies of the WAUFP.

The Diploma of Commerce is equivalent to first year university level and articulates into second year of commerce studies at The University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Murdoch University and the University of Notre Dame Australia. Canning College also delivers Bridging Programs of various lengths that support the flexible entry arrangements.

While Canning College has a special relationship with the universities of Perth, College graduates can enrol at all universities across Australia and at many universities across the world. Canning graduates have studied at universities in Australia, England, Ireland, America, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea and Singapore.

In 2022, 26% of Canning College's WA Universities' Foundation Program students achieved a Combined Percentage Score (CPS) equivalent to a 95 ATAR, placing them in the top 5% of all university entrants in Australia. These students came from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Peru, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam. 78% of WAUFP students achieved a score that entitled them to enter university.

Canning College students pursue a wide range of degree courses including engineering, medicine, physiotherapy, education, law, pharmacy, nursing and computing.
