School Overview

Yanchep Secondary College provides young people in the Yanchep area with a high quality, comprehensive education.

Yanchep Secondary College opened in 2018 in a brand new purpose built school.
We offer a broad, high level curriculum encompassing academic programs and vocational courses to provide students with opportunities to pursue learning interests that inspire and challenge them. We enrol students from year 7 to year 12.

Stage 2 of our building program is underway. This will include a commercial kitchen and cafe and an arts centre for visual and performing arts. The school is designed to give students access to specialist subject teaching and the best learning practices to promote success and excellence.

Our school has specialist teachers, a challenging curriculum that inspires excellence, and many options and pathways for students to succeed, including pathways to university, further training (TAFE) or employment.

Yanchep Secondary College has a focus on the whole student to ensures that our school, staff and community works together to develop young adults who engage meaningfully with their local community, are prepared for the challenges of working in the 21st century, and help to make Yanchep, Two Rocks, Lancelin and the communities in-between as great places to live.

This will be achieved through a student centred approach in the teaching and learning, a comprehensive range of student support services and engaging with the local community and relevant external community groups.

Our teachers are enthusiastic and passionate and work to inspire students to strive for excellence. Our processes promote a proactive approach to improving student outcomes.

We focus on the student, teacher and parent relationships. Our staff engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs.
