School Overview

Our school provides a vibrant and exciting learning precinct where all students are provided with an array of opportunities to develop the skills, values and attitudes they need to embrace the future.

We are a proud Independent Public School enrolling students in Years 7 to 12. We engage all teachers, administrators, students and families in working together as a learning community that is dedicated to providing excellent pastoral care and supporting active participation and positive expectations for all students.

The VET Program allows students exciting opportunities in vocational education and to explore possible career pathways through Workplace Learning whilst still in Year 11 and 12. Through the Atwell College Mathematics Academy, a mathematics summer school is held annually for a week at the local university for students doing ATAR Mathematics. Our outstanding arts program is highly acclaimed for its visual arts, dance and drama, media, choir, concert band and musical theatre, guitar and woodwind ensembles. The strong support for sport in the local area is reflected in competitive successes for College teams in a number of sports including athletics, soccer, AFL, rugby, netball and volleyball. The Atwell College Netball Specialist Program has been endorsed as a Tier 1 Specialist Netball School for 2018 by Netball Western Australia. This is an outstanding achievement which recognises that Atwell College is one of the Top 5 Specialist Netball Schools in the state. The Rugby League Specialist Program is another elite sporting program developed by Atwell College in conjunction with the NRL WA.

The College campus is contemporary with state-of-the-art buildings and modern facilities. Education Support Programs including the Kim Beazley Learning Building within Atwell College enables the full-spectrum of opportunities for students with disabilities. Across the College, specialist facilities include a new library and resource centre, IT infrastructure, a fully operational theatre and media centre, music training facilities, large gymnasium and sporting ovals and extensive home economics and design and technology capacity. In addition to a growing reputation in academic excellence, our school offers a range of after-school courses each term through the Atwell College Zone Extension Program. This provides an enriching and challenging program to academically able Year 5 and 6 students from our seven partner primary schools.
