Ellenbrook Secondary College (4177)

School Overview

At Ellenbrook Secondary College, we are proud to be a school for everyone, where multiculturalism and success are celebrated as our greatest strengths. With over 60 languages spoken within our community, we embrace the richness that diversity brings, fostering an environment of respect, self-worth, and confidence. We are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive, regardless of their background.

We are committed to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through programs such as Deadly Sista Girlz and the Clontarf Academy. These initiatives focus on leadership, empowerment, and educational success, ensuring that Indigenous students have the support and opportunities they need to excel.

At our College, students have access to a broad range of learning pathways, from ATAR courses to our award-winning Vocational Education and Training (VET) program, which has earned the College the WorldSkills VETiS Best School Award in the state for two consecutive years. Our specialist music and sports programs provide exceptional opportunities, with music students showcasing their talents at college events, travelling overseas on excursions, and earning recognition on both local and international stages.

Our Gifted and Talented (GAT) Secondary Selective Academic Program offers our students the opportunity to be challenged with rigorous studies in core academic areas, ensuring they are prepared for future success. With a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), we equip students with the skills they need to solve real-world problems using innovative technology, fostering creativity and critical thinking.

Our state-of-the-art facilities support students' learning and development. These include a dedicated Trade Training Centre, a Performing Arts Centre, a modern gym, a barista cafe, and a shared library with the City of Swan. These spaces are designed to provide our students with the tools and resources they need to excel in both academic and extracurricular pursuits. With an array of clubs, sports teams, and extracurricular programs, there truly is something for every student, reflecting our pride in fostering a diverse and inclusive community.

We take great care to ensure education is accessible for families by providing extensive computer resources to support learning, without requiring students to bring their own device, helping to keep schooling costs manageable.

Our Student Support Centre offers comprehensive care through a dedicated team, including Student Services Managers, Psychologists, Chaplain, Nurse, Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEO), and specialist teachers. Initiatives like the Breakfast Club, RUOK Day, lunchtime competitions, after school extracurricular activities/clubs and workshops addressing mental health and social media use, create a safe and supportive space for our students. We prioritise the wellbeing of every student at the College, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed.

We highly value our partnership with parents and the wider community. Through the P&C and College Board, parents are encouraged to actively participate in decision-making processes and support initiatives that enhance student outcomes. Ellenbrook Secondary College also works closely with its catchment primary schools and local organisations, offering students opportunities to engage with and give back to the community through meaningful projects and activities.

We invite prospective parents and carers to contact us to learn more or arrange a tour of the College.
