Warnbro Community High School (4159)

School Overview

Situated 50 km south of Perth, Warnbro CHS is located in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. WCHS provides a vibrant and nurturing learning environment that takes a holistic approach to the growth and development of our students. The WCHS community works together to develop students with strong aspirations and a self-belief in achieving success now and in the future. WCHS is focused on improving student outcomes through meeting students at their point of need.

We have introduced unique and successful learning programs that are underpinned by highly effective evidence based strategies which ensure high progress for all students. We are well known for our specialist programs which include the Creative Arts and Adventure Recreation. Excellent facilities provide extensive and innovative opportunities in the Arts (Drama, Dance, Music, Circus, Media, Multi-media and Visual Arts), Technologies (Metal fabrication, Engineering, graphics, robotics), Hospitality, Careers, Vocational Education and Training. We ensure our students successfully transition from school to their futures through extensive pathway planning throughout their WCHS journey. We offer varied pathways to suit the needs of our senior school students. There is a range of ATAR courses supported by a weekly ATAR Preparation class that utilizes both school and external resources. In addition to this we offer an extensive General program and Vocational Education and Training programs, including a Specialist Hospitality course and Industry Links. Our Industry Links students are at school three days per week and in Workplace Learning for one day per week. The final day of their week is taken up by TAFE studies or an Apprenticeship/Traineeship program. Many of our General course have a direct correlation to the workplace and we spend time with our students mapping their pathways to successful transition from school to work.

A comprehensive Student Services team provides support to students and families. The team works to create a positive school culture through ongoing case management using a response to intervention model. We have a Student Well-being Hub where students can access support, guidance and provides a number of targeted intervention programs. WCHS is a Positive Behaviour School (PBS) which reinforces our behaviour expectations of Be your Best, Be Responsible and Be Respectful.

Our school is well supported by the community contributing to the success of our school.
