Australind Senior High School (4146)

School Overview

Founded in 1987, Australind Senior High School is set in a beautiful estuary environment on the South West coast, with spacious grounds overlooking the Brunswick River. Our campus offers students room to grow, explore and learn in a calm, natural setting that supports both wellbeing and academic focus.

Australind SHS is a large, well established regional school, educating around 1,100 students from Years 7 to 12. Families value our broad subject choice and the flexibility this provides as students discover their strengths and plan their future pathways.

We are proud to support students heading towards university, training or employment through a strong balance of academic and vocational programs. Our Academic Specialist Program in Mathematics and Philosophy (MaP) has been delivering outstanding results since 2009, supporting high achieving students to think critically, reason deeply and excel academically.

For students with a passion for sport, the Excel Sport Leadership Selective Program offers a high quality pathway that combines athletic development with leadership, teamwork and personal growth. Students are supported to build discipline, resilience and leadership skills while maintaining strong academic engagement.

Creative students thrive at Australind SHS, with rich opportunities in music, drama, visual arts and media. Our Jazz Music Specialist Program, recognised since 2012, offers talented musicians the chance to develop performance skills and collaborate within a vibrant arts culture. The school band currently holds multiple national championships.

Language learning is another strength of our school. Australind SHS specialises in French and Japanese, supported by long standing partnerships with local primary schools, our sister school in Moka, Japan, and the Hyogo Foundation. These connections provide meaningful cultural exchange and global learning opportunities.

As a Registered Training Organisation since 2000, we offer a wide range of Certificate courses, allowing students to gain nationally recognised qualifications while completing their schooling. Many students also choose to participate in FESA Cadets, one of the largest cadet programs in Western Australia, building leadership, teamwork and community service skills.

Australind SHS consistently delivers strong outcomes for students, reflecting our commitment to high expectations, student growth and quality teaching.

At Australind SHS, we partner with families to help every student find their path and leave school confident, capable and ready for what comes next.
