For more than 100 years, QDHS has been at the heart of the Quairading community - and our students and staff are at the heart of our school. Today, 150 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 learn together in a connected country school where every student is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their personal best.
Our vision, Creating learners for life - kaadadjiny kalyakoorl, reflects our commitment to preparing young people with the knowledge, skills, confidence and character to thrive at school and beyond.
Our values of Respect, Kindness, Connection, Pride and Courage are embedded in our actions, relationships and behaviours. They shape a school culture where students feel safe, connected, valued and supported to learn.
At QDHS, we believe every student has the right to experience high-quality teaching. Quality teaching is the greatest influence on student learning and underpins every aspect of our school improvement. Our teachers work collaboratively, use evidence to inform their practice and maintain high expectations so that every student can make progress and achieve their personal best.
We create quality learning environments where positive relationships, consistent expectations and culturally responsive approaches strengthen engagement, attendance and success. Our Kindergarten to Year 12 setting provides unique opportunities for students to develop lasting relationships, learn across age groups, take on leadership and experience a strong sense of belonging throughout their schooling.
Strong connections extend beyond our school gates. We work purposefully with students, families, staff, Ballardong Elders, the Quairading community and partner agencies to build trust, strengthen belonging and create opportunities for our young people. These relationships create shared responsibility for student learning, engagement and wellbeing.
We want our whole school community to flourish. Our approach to wellbeing strengthens safety, belonging, engagement, resilience and achievement for students, while supporting staff wellbeing, professional growth and fulfilment.
