The following defines the local-intake area of this school:

POYNTER PRIMARY SCHOOL (5636) (Government Gazette December 1991)

The boundary for this school is as follows:
From the junction of Warwick Road and Marmion Avenue, south along Marmion Avenue to Beach Road, east along Beach Road to Poynter Drive, north along Poynter Drive to Quilter Drive, east and north along Quilter Drive to and across Granadilla Street to Karo Place, west to the westerly extremity of Karo Place, north from this point to Nicholli Street, wast along Nicholli Street to Bernedale Way, north along the eastern arm of Bernedale Way to Warwick Road and west along Warwick Road to Marmion Avenue.

The boundary parts of Marmion Avenue (east side), Beach Road (north side), Poynter Drive (both sides), Nicholli Street (both sides), Bernedale Way (both sides) and Wariwick Road (south side) and the boundary street of Quilter Drive (both sides), are included within the area for Poynter Primary School, while the boundary street of Karo Place (both sides) is excluded from the area for Poynter Primary School.

The local-intake area maps are based on a written description of the local-intake area (LIA) for the school as published in the WA Government Gazette.  Although the map closely represents the LIA description, for some houses near the boundary (especially on street corners), it may be necessary to refer to the written description.  The street address of a residence is used to determine whether that dwelling is inside a particular LIA.  While local-intake areas for most schools do not change from year to year, changes may be made to local-intake areas as required.  Such changes are published in the WA Government Gazette and subsequently the local-intake area map will be updated.
