The following defines the local-intake area of this school:
From the intersection of Collier Road and South Coast Highway, south east and east along Collier Road to the railway line, south east and south along the railway line to the junction (where one track goes south to the port, and the other goes east to the tanker jetty), south from this junction along the railway line to a point north east from the junction of Johns Street and Wollamai Place, south west from this point on the railway line to the junction of Johns Street and Woollamai Place, south along Johns Street to Twilight Beach Road, and continuing south to the coastline, east and north along the coastline to the tanker jetty, west from the jetty to where the railway line intersects Harbour Road, north along Harbour road to Monjingup Road, west along Monjingup Road to Warden Road, north along Warden Road and its northern extension to the shore line of Lake Warden, west and north west to a point on the shore due east of the intersection of Stearnes Road and the railway line, west from this point along Stearnes Road to the railway line, south along the railway line to South Coast Highway and west along South Coast Highway to the intersection with Collier Road.

The boundary parts of Harbour Road (west side), Monjingup Road (both sides) and Stearnes Road (both sides) are included within the local-intake area of Esperance Primary School. The boundary parts of Harbour Road (east side), and Warden Road (both sides) are excluded from the local-intake of Esperance Primary School. The boundary parts of Johns Street from Woollamai Place to Twilight Beach Road (both sides) are optional between Esperance Primary School and Nulsen Primary School.

The following defines an optional area between Castletown Primary School and Esperance Primary School:
From a point on shore of Lake Warden at the northern extension of Warden Road, east and north east along the shoreline of Lake Warden to the most easterly point of Lake Warden, east from this point to Norseman Road, south along Norseman Road to Harbour Road, south west and south along Harbour Road to Monjingup Road, west along Monjingup Road to Warden Road, north along Warden Road and its northern extension to Lake Warden.

The boundary parts of Norseman Road (west side), Harbour Road (north west and west side) and Warden Road (both sides) are included within this optional area. The boundary parts of Monjingup Road (both sides) are excluded from this optional area.

The boundary for Esperance Primary School includes the following school bus routes: Caitup, Gibson, Dalyup, Lort and Helms. Approval to travel as a complimentary passenger on any of these buses does not entitle a child to attend Esperance Primary School.

The local-intake area maps are based on a written description of the local-intake area (LIA) for the school as published in the WA Government Gazette.  Although the map closely represents the LIA description, for some houses near the boundary (especially on street corners), it may be necessary to refer to the written description.  The street address of a residence is used to determine whether that dwelling is inside a particular LIA.  While local-intake areas for most schools do not change from year to year, changes may be made to local-intake areas as required.  Such changes are published in the WA Government Gazette and subsequently the local-intake area map will be updated.
