BEACHLANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL (5032) (Government Gazette December 1977)

The following defines the local-intake area of this school:

From the Harbour at a point due north of the junction of Marine Terrace and Portway, due south to and along Portway to Augustus Street, east along Augustus Street to the northwestern corner of the Recreation Reserve, south along the western boundary of the Recreation Reserve to Shenton Street, east along Shenton Street to Gregory Street, south along Gregory Street to Fraser Street, east along Fraser Street to Holland Street, south along Holland Street to Portway, east along Portway to the Portway/Cathedral Avenue/North West Coastal Highway/Brand Highway Roundabout, east along North West Coastal Highway to Durlacher Street, south along Durlacher Street to Brand Highway, south along Brand Highway to Olive Street, and west along Olive Street across Willcock Drive to the Indian Ocean.

The boundary parts of the southern section of Portway (south side only), North West Coastal Highway (south side only), Durlacher Street (West side only), and Brand Highway (west side only), and the boundary street of Olive Street (both sides) are included within the area for the Beachlands Primary School. The boundary parts of the northern section of Portway (both sides), Augustus Street (both sides), Shenton Street (both sides), Gregory Street (both sides), Fraser Street (both sides), and Holland Street (both sides) are excluded from the area for the Beachlands Primary School.

The local-intake area maps are based on a written description of the local-intake area (LIA) for the school as published in the WA Government Gazette.  Although the map closely represents the LIA description, for some houses near the boundary (especially on street corners), it may be necessary to refer to the written description.  The street address of a residence is used to determine whether that dwelling is inside a particular LIA.  While local-intake areas for most schools do not change from year to year, changes may be made to local-intake areas as required.  Such changes are published in the WA Government Gazette and subsequently the local-intake area map will be updated.
