Job Board – JobsWA. If you are familiar with using the JobsWA website, simply visit jobs.det.wa.edu.au
for advertised positions.
As you may be aware principal positions Level 3 to 6 are already advertised through JobsWA. This has now been extended to
include head of department, head of learning area, deputy principal and school psychologist vacancies, along with teaching
positions in local selection schools.
We have set up a DET Job Board for teaching and school administrator positions within JobsWA which will allow you to search more easily for relevant positions, set up a job seeker account, and store your information to make it easier to apply for multiple positions.
There is very little change in the way you apply for these positions. It’s actually much simpler– just apply online and attach your CV and covering letter.
You can choose to apply directly for a position through JobsWA and/or complete the appropriate application process below to be considered for a range of centrally placed positions.
Existing teachers seeking a transfer for 2010 must have completed a placement request by Friday 17 July 2009. If you are a permanent teacher or school psychologist you have until 28 August 2009 to alter your placement request or activate a protective transfer.
Placement requests for 2010 from fixed term teachers, school psychologists and graduate teachers are due by 9 October 2009.

Just as doctors, nurses, lawyers and other professionals have to be registered before they can practice, all teachers in Western Australia must be registered. If you apply for a position and are the successful applicant you must be eligible for, or be registered with the WA College of Teaching.
