Graduate Teacher

As a new teacher you will be referred to as a graduate teacher for the first two years. You will commence on Level 2.1 and are eligible for the Graduate Allowance of up to $1600 during your first two years. Once you complete the requirements for full registration, you progress to Teacher level.

If you are a career changer, your work experience and previous qualifications may be taken into account when determining your starting salary. The Department considers each application to start above the graduate salary on a case-by-case basis.

Level Salary as at February 2010
2.1 $53,954*
2.2 $59,199*

* this does not include the $1600pa graduate allowance
