Holidays and leave entitlements

As a teacher or administrator, you can receive great entitlements including:

  • 12 weeks vacation leave (school holidays)
  • 13 weeks paid long service leave after 10 years and then after every seven years of continuous service (this is in addition to school holidays)
  • substantial additional leave if you participate in the remote teaching service
  • more than 20 days of other leave each year including sick leave and carers’ leave
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child
  • up to one week paid partner leave at the time of the birth or adoption of a child when your partner is the primary care giver.
