Entry and orientation


Teachers who have not taught in the past ten years

If you are a teacher with previous experience but have not taught within the past ten years we will invite you to participate in our Entry and Orientation Program (EOP) as part of the application process. The EOP is open to teachers who are committed to teaching in the Western Australian public school system.

The Entry and Orientation Program is two days of free professional development and support where experienced presenters will take you through a range of areas including:

  • Western Australian curriculum and resources;
  • benefits of teaching in the Western Australian public school system;
  • an accredited program for creating a positive learning environment; and
  • cultural orientation and strategies to support Aboriginal students

There is also a ten day practical component.

Further details will be available once you have confirmed your attendance.

To participate in this program you will need:

  • Registration with the WA College of Teaching (WACOT).
  • Department employee number (which allows you to do relief teaching)
  • Working with Children Check
