Entry and orientation

Teachers who have taught in Australia within the past ten years

If you have taught in an Australian school in the last ten years, you can start teaching once we obtain an appraisal of your teaching from you most recent employer. This will include two references from your line managers who can attest to your teaching skills.

Once we receive a satisfactory appraisal, you will receive an employee identification number from the Department and you can start teaching. You will be able to apply for full-time and part-time positions or approach individual schools for casual relief work.

You do not need to do our Entry and Orientation Program.
