Accessing Permanency

The Department of Education and Training is committed to offering permanent status to teachers and school psychologists.

There are several pathways to permanency available to teachers. Due to the specific contractual requirements of each pathway, it is not possible to change to another permanency pathway within the period of the contract.

An appointment which may lead to permanency with the Department of Education and Training requires a work fraction of 0.40 FTE (two days a week) or greater.
