Challenges and Choices: Resilience, Drug and Road Safety Education for Early and Middle Childhood Teachers

Who: School based staff working with Kindergarten to Year 7 students
What: Have you considered integrating resilience, drug or road safety education across the learning areas? Do you need some new ways to teach health education? Would you like to know how to incorporate literacy into your health program?

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of effective resilience, drug and road safety education, three contexts identified in the K-10 Health and Physical Education Syllabus and the Challenges and Choices early and middle childhood resources.  A range of activities and teaching and learning strategies, that can easily be transferred into the classroom, will be modelled throughout the workshop.

When: 8.15am—3.15pm

Participants are requested to bring the Challenges and Choices teacher resource for their students’ phase of schooling.

A certificate of attendance will be provided on completion of the professional development workshop.

All associated costs including teacher relief are covered by SDERA. Workshops are scheduled at various times throughout the year.
