Smart Steps
is a free community-based education program that supports parents and carers to model safe behaviours and make safer decisions
in the road environment for young children. It addresses three key areas of risk regarding the use of child car restraints
and general passenger safety, safe pedestrian practices and safer play.
Child health professionals, community agencies; and early childhood educators who attend a Smart Steps professional learning
workshop will receive a kit and a range of resources that will assist them in facilitating parent sessions and road safety
activities with children in their care.
