Smart Steps: Engaging Parents and Children in Road Safety

Who: Staff who work with Kindergarten to Year 3 students

What:

Are you concerned about the safety of young children in and around traffic?  Would you like ideas on how to engage parents in their children's road safety education?

Smart Steps is a great precursor to the Challenges and Choices early childhood workshop.  Participants will look at issues around passenger, pedestrian and play safety for young children; gain a deeper understanding of what influences positive road safety attitudes and behaviour change; look at ways to implement road safety information sessions for parents; and unpack the Smart Steps resource.

When: 8.15am - 3.00pm

A certificate of attendance will be provided on completion of the professional learning workshop.

All associated costs including teacher relief are covered by SDERA. Workshops are scheduled at various times throughout the year.
