Keeping in Touch: Working with Alcohol and Other Drug Use

What:

Is your school equipped to support students who may be at risk of engaging in drug using behaviour? Would you like to increase your ability to respond to student drug issues?


This 1-day workshop is for schools with an awareness of a whole school approach in drug education and who have School Drug Education Guidelines in development or in place.


This workshop:

  • Offers participants an opportunity to enhance their awareness of the impacts of drug use on young people
  •  Introduces and works with theoretical frameworks to explore drug using behaviour
  •  Provides and works with strategies for brief intervention
  •  Will provide participants with the resource Keeping in Touch: Working with Alcohol and Other Drug Use.

 

When: 8.15am—3.00pm

A certificate of attendance will be presented on completion of the professional learning workshop.

All associated costs including teacher relief are covered by SDERA. Workshops are scheduled at various times throughout the year.
