East Hamersley Primary School (5627)

School Overview

East Hamersley Primary School is an Independent Public School driven by a collaborative professional learning culture of high quality teaching and learning, positive school environment and strong community partnerships and engagement. Established in 1979, we provide a range of evidenced based programs for students from Kindergarten to Year Six. We are a high performing school committed to providing a safe and caring environment which is inclusive and celebrates our rich diversity. With a beautiful setting surrounded by leafy trees, open grounds, friendly students and quality staff we recognise the guardianship of the traditional owners of the land which upon our school has been established, the Mooro people on Wadjak Noongar country.

We have become a school of choice and with a strong positive reputation in the community we acknowledge and respect the need for us to keep evolving our expectations to meet the aspirations of families for their children. We aim to build on these expectations by providing a contemporary education that acknowledges that students are curious, have a voice, are technologically adept and value their environment.

To achieve our vision of inspiring a culture of excellence in all that we do, we recognise that effective teaching is the single biggest determinant of student improvement in the school. We have defined our teaching practice to ensure a whole school pedagogical approach to every class and every learning area for every student. Through professional collaboration we challenge and learn from and with each other to ensure the quality of our teaching.

Your child can access specialist programs in Music, Art, Indonesian, Physical and Health Education, and Digital Technology. We offer student voice opportunities though our Sustainability Squad and student leadership roles in various sporting and school activities, as well as mentoring students through a peer skills program. Our school choir performs widely in our community and our instrumental program offers clarinet and guitar lesson opportunities.

Your child will learn in newly refurbished facilities that cater for explicit and flexible learning arrangements and they can also develop their artistic talent and technology skills in our newly created technology centre.

With a staff who are dynamic, unified, collaborative and community oriented we aim to ensure all East Hamersley students feel a sense of belonging, are safe and are provided with high-quality teaching and learning programs. We look forward to welcoming your family to our school community and experiencing the East Hamersley way for yourself.
