Tom Price Primary School (5549)

School Overview

At Tom Price Primary School, we are dedicated to ensuring that our students are placed first in all of our decision making and that improved student learning is our highest priority. Our purpose is to ensure every student is a successful student and that every teacher is a highly effective teacher.

We place high expectations on ourselves and strive to exceed them. We believe that in order for every student to achieve their potential we must provide the best conditions possible for our teachers, education assistants and other support staff to work.

Our staff understand that the prerequisites for successful students are the quality of teaching (what is taught and how it is taught) and the provision of a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment. We enable success by ensuring the efficient allocation and use of resources, providing high quality and distributed leadership and maintaining positive and effective relationships.

Tom Price Primary School is an active member of the Ashburton Schools Alliance (ASA) - North Tom Price Primary School, Paraburdoo Primary School and Tom Price Senior High School. As part of the ASA network we continue to create mutual benefit for all member schools, while effectively serving the interests of students and families from the Shire of Ashburton and the Pilbara Education Region. Together we have a greater capacity to 'buy in' experts to assist in the provision of high quality support and training to staff to ensure the most effective programs and learning environment are afforded to the students at our school to achieve success.

Tom Price Primary School was established in 1967 as the first Primary School in Tom Price, and is located centrally within the town. The primary classrooms are the original buildings. It is one of two primary schools in Tom Price, servicing the educational needs of children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The student cohort comes from the town and the Aboriginal community of Wakuthuni, situated 30 kilometres to the south of Tom Price.

Tom Price Primary School is an Independent Public School located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Our school caters to an ever changing student population, reflective of the town's mining industry. We provide high quality education for students from diverse backgrounds.

Partnerships with external providers, parents and the community are strategically established to address identified student needs and operate by providing access to experiences, support and intellectual and or physical resources.
