How will School Psychologists who work at Independent Public Schools be affected?
School Psychologists will remain employees of the Department and maintain all conditions and entitlements. School Psychologists who are merit selected to work at Independent Public Schools will be line managed by the principal.
Will the principal of an Independent Public School still be accountable to the Director Schools?
No, the principal of an Independent Public School will be directly accountable to the Director General through a Delivery and Performance Agreement.
What district office services and support can an Independent Public School use?
Independent Public Schools will be able to access attendance officers and participation coordinators who are currently based in districts. The service of the Speech and Language team and visiting teacher and ESL support will also be available.
What central office services and support can an Independent Public School use?
Independent Public Schools are entitled to the full support of all directorates in central office.
