The kindergarten and pre-primary programs at your local public school build on all the things you have taught your child at home. These first steps into the education system shape your child's love and enthusiasm for learning and will have a significant impact on their future emotional, social and educational development.
Teachers, who coordinate kindergarten and pre-primary programs are passionate, caring and focused on teaching values such as respect, responsibility and good discipline. Classrooms are stimulating and exciting places where your child is given the opportunity to learn social and academic skills through play, and active participation with other children and adults.
Children's work is displayed proudly around the room and parents are encouraged to assist with classroom activities. Children spend time working on their own, in small groups and as part of the whole group. While not compulsory, kindergarten and pre-primary supports important foundations for children's future success at school.
Help your children develop a love of learning by enrolling them in programs at your local public school.
Aboriginal kindergartens operate in 30 schools and provide early learning for three and four year old Aboriginal children.
