North Metropolitan Education Regional Office

About Us

The North Metropolitan Education Region comprises approximately 230 public schools providing kindergarten – Year 12 school-based education programs for over 92,200 students in the northern and north-eastern suburbs of the Perth Metropolitan Area.

The North Metropolitan Education Region was formed from the Government’s recent initiative to empower local school communities and give principals and staff a greater say in how regional services are delivered and used. This involved the creation of a new regional structure in January 2011 which included the amalgamation of the Swan and West Coast Education Districts.

Regional School Networks

Up to 20 new regional school networks, comprising up to 20 public schools, will be formed in the North Metropolitan Education Region with the flexibility to respond to local issues in ways that will have relevance to local communities. These networks of schools will begin their formation during 2011 and will be led by a Network Principal.

Regional Office

The North Metropolitan Regional Education Office has been established to allow community members to approach senior Department representatives with issues and problems for local resolution. This office has also been created to foster interagency collaboration to further assist families of school-aged children. Some specialist Aboriginal education, educational policy, behaviour management, attendance, home education, financial management and regional school network coordinating support staff have also been located in the new regional office.

This regional office is headed by the Regional Executive Director (Mr James Webb) and is supported by an Assistant Regional Executive Director (Mr Paul Meacock).

This region has its main regional office in Stirling (Level 2, 1 Puccini Court) and a local education office in Beechboro (18 Blackboy Way).

To contact this regional office, please telephone the reception on (08) 9285 3600, or via facsimile on (08) 9285 3730.
