Teachers

Welcome, teachers!

The Challenge is being run for the seventh year and is open to all children from Kindergarten to Year 7, including children being taught at home.

Participation in the Reading Challenge is a great way to keep students interested in reading and learning over the summer. Research shows that it helps students return to school in the new year, ready to learn with greater fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

On this website you will find all you need to know about the Challenge.

The Challenge starts on 7 December 2009 and ends on 8 February 2010.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 3 can enter by reading for 10 hours. Students from Year 4 to 7 can enter by reading for 15 hours.

This year’s Challenge is full of incentives that will be attractive to all children, including those who are not avid readers.

Reading Challenge log (including entry form), will be sent to all primary schools across Western Australia in November 2009. Please send a Reading Challenge log home with every child by 4 December 2009.
