OVERVIEW OF CHANGES - NEW STRATEGIC PLANNING DOCUMENT

FOCUS 2011

Focus 2011 sets out the system priorities for schools in 2011 and the expectations of central and regional staff to support them.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES - NEW POLICIES

LEAVE MANAGEMENT

The new Leave Management policy supersedes the Management of Avoidable Sick Leave, Management of Annual and Long Service Leave and Long Service Leave/Leave Without Pay/Study Leave policies.

The new policy streamlines the previous policies and provides an operational framework to raise employee and line manager knowledge and understanding of entitlements and responsibilities related to leave eligibility, application and approval processes.

It ensures that employees and line managers are informed about leave procedures and leave management provisions under relevant industrial Awards and Agreements. It is designed to clarify the way leave is administered, particularly management of leave by line managers to ensure the Department’s leave liability is minimised.

WORKPLACE BULLYING

The new Workplace Bullying policy affirms the Department’s commitment to a safe, equitable and non-discriminatory work environment, and guides employees and line managers in the prevention and effective management of bullying behaviour in the workplace.
