University Accreditation

The Leadership Centre has developed links and partnerships with a number of Western Australian universities. It is envisaged that these relationships will continue to strengthen as the Centre's initiatives provide avenues for university accreditation.

At present we have negotiated credit for the following Leadership Centre Certified Programs with some or all universities:

The four Introductory Leadership Modules listed above make up the Leadership Centre’s Certificate of Management.

In some cases the universities have their own endorsed programs that can be used to gain further credits towards post graduate qualifications.

Other organisations have also sought recognition for their professional learning programs with various universities.

For example:

  • CIP 2 – DET
  • Leading From The Front ICT Symposium – WAPPA, WASSEA
  • Leading From The Front Symposium – WAPPA, WASSEA

General Conditions for Credit – Applicants need to individually negotiate the conditions for recognition of prior or concurrent professional learning with the university involved. A few general requirements appear to be common to all universities accepting credits.

  • Proof of completion of the endorsed program must be provided. Participants in Leadership Centre Certified Programs (LCCP) receive a certificate on completion of the requirements.
  • An endorsed module generally equates to the application, in an educational environment, of approximately 12 hours of professional learning.
  • Evidence of how the professional learning has been applied in an educational environment must also be provided. A Reflective Journal or Professional Portfolio may be negotiated as the vehicle to provide this evidence.
  • Individuals must make personal application to the university involved for recognition of their endorsed programs.
  • Applicants need to be enrolled as a student of a participating university.

Each university has its own system of credit points, fee structures, time constraints, etc… . They also have given endorsement to different subsets of the above modules and programs. This table (PDF 67KB) attempts to summarise these characteristics but does not claim to replace the need for direct interaction with the institution involved. Negotiations are constantly underway to add to the programs recognised.
