Strategic Aims

A collaborative initiative of the Professional Associations representing school leaders, the AEUWA and the WA Department of Education and Training.

The Leadership Centre has three broad strategic aims:

• Developing a contemporary understanding for the profession of school leadership.
• Raising the professional standards and standing of school leadership.
• Provision of opportunities for professional growth and development for Government school leaders.

Services

The Leadership Centre provides the following services to school administrators and those aspiring to leadership positions in Western Australian Government schools:

• Leadership resources and critiques of leadership resources;
• Advocacy and representation on school leadership issues;
• Brokerage of school leadership development opportunities;
• Development of new opportunities for professional growth;
• Opportunities to join in debate and public comment on school leadership and leadership issues;
• Exploitation of opportunities to raise awareness of the importance of school leadership;
• Initiatives directed at raising the standards of school leadership in Western Australia; and
• A professional forum to advance understanding and the importance and complexity of school leadership.
