Disability Services Commission (DSC) Post
School Options (PSO) process provides information and support to eligible school leavers who are in their final year
of school. If an application is successful then applicant will be allocated Alternatives to Employment (ATE) funding
for the program. ATE programs are based on the needs and goals of individuals. ATE programs focus on social participation,
increasing independence, life long learning and enhancing natural support networks. Please note that ATE programs do
not replicate school hours.

The Alternatives to Employment Expo is held annually in August by the PSO. The Expo provides an excellent opportunity
for individuals and families to meet many service providers at one venue. ATE service providers will be available on
the day to provide information on the services they offer and how to access these services in a timely manner.
