Supporting non Government OrganisationsNon-government organisations help to improve the educational opportunities and personal development of primary and secondary school students.

 

Overview

The Community Relations Program works in partnership with a number of local community non-government organisations to provide a range of services to students in state schools.

Financial assistance is provided to selected non government organisations by the Department of Education and Training who is responsible for:

  • the development of service level agreements
  • the promotion of community and non-government organisations in the delivery of educational services in state schools

Supported non-government organisations

Local community organisations that receive financial assistance from the Community Relations Program include:

  • Parkerville Children and Youth Care Inc
  • The Safety House Association Inc
  • The Smith Family
  • The School Volunteer Program Inc
  • YouthCare (formerly Churches Commission on Education)
  • National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP)
  • Dyslexia Speld Foundation Inc
  • School Sport WA Inc
  • Disability Access and Inclusion Plans
  • Therapy Services

Outcomes

Funding of local community non-government organisations is provided to:

  • support schools and districts to ensure students achieve the standards expected of them
  • encourage student participation in engaging learning programs
  • assist schools and districts in the effective management of student diversity
  • provide programs that support development of safe, inclusive and supporting environments that are conducive to effective learning
