Recruitment Request - Advertising of Principal Positions

A new online Recruitment Request has been developed. This is an updated version of the Manager Request Form which replaced the Request to Advertise Form that was used for advertising of Principal positions. The Recruitment Request, which is completed online via RAMS, is already being used for advertising of teaching and all other School Administrator positions and is now available for those Directors wishing to use this new online form to initiate advertising of Principal positions.

Introduction of four (4) day breach period trial from 1 December 2009

As approved by the Office of Public Sector Standards Commissioner (OPSSC) the Department of Education is introducing a trial of a four (4) day breach period to replace the previous ten (10) day breach period.

The trial will streamline recruitment processes and provide better candidate care.

Chairs of the selection panels must respond to requests for feedback within the four (4) day period.

Advertising of District Pools for Temporary Placements - Principals and Deputy Principal vacancies

We have recently been contacted by some Districts wishing to advertise appointment pools for temporary Principal and Deputy Principal vacancies that occur during 2010. Some of these have recently been advertised. You will recall that a series of business rules were established last year for using appointment pools. These have been developed into a set of guidelines which are attached, for your information and reference. Click here for guidelines.

 

A new DET JobsWA board

A Jobs WA site for DET has been created specifically for teachers, school administrators and school psychologist positions. All vacancies for these positions will appear on this site at www.jobs.det.wa.edu.au as well as the general Jobs WA site. Applicants accessing this site will be able to filter their search more easily as only DET vacancies for the above positions will appear on this site. Existing users of the previous DET Jobs Online (SITVAC) system will receive notification of the change and a new login and password for the new jobs board.

The Principal Recruitment team

Located within the Human Resources Services branch of the Education and Training Shared Service Centre (ETSSC) the Principal Recruitment team is dedicated to providing efficient and effective services to assist Districts in securing best-fit Principals for their schools. The Principal Recruitment team continues to develop simplified processes aimed at both Panels and Applicants by making use of the RAMS candidate management module.

The team sits within the broader HR Services team which is also responsible for providing recruitment and advertising services to a broad client base, including the Department of Education and Training (DET), TAFEWA, Curriculum Council and the Department of Education Services.
