Eneabba Primary School evacuated due to bushfire

All remaining students from Eneabba Primary School who were evacuated to the Leeman Recreation Centre today (Wednesday, November 26) are now in the care of their parents.

Unless a return to the town of Eneabba is approved by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, staff will be accommodated at the Leeman Holiday Units. 

1.20pm

The Department of Education advises that Eneabba Primary School in the Mid-West region has been evacuated (Wednesday, November 26).

Eight students and six staff are on route to Leeman Recreation Centre. All other students have been collected by their parents.

Parents that may be on route to the school, will be advised of the evacuation arrangements.

Parents can call the Mid-West Regional Education Office on 9956 1600 with any additional queries. Media queries must go to 9264 5821.

Parents are advised to continue to monitor the Department of Fire and Emergency Services website at www.dfes.wa.gov.au, local ABC radio and the Department of Education website for the latest information.

Note: An update will be issued when schooling arrangements for the above public school change.

Gingin District High School, Lancelin Primary School taking action due to bushfires

The Department of Education advises parents of students at Gingin District HIgh School and Lancelin Primary School that students are safe and still on school site.

Parents are advised to continue to monitor the Department of Fire and Emergency Services information before attempting to collect their children.

The schools are making every effort to inform parents of the developing situation and it is essential for people to follow the instructions of emergency services personnel.

Parents should continue to monitor the Department of Fire and Emergency Services website www.dfes.wa.gov.au, ABC radio and the Department of Education’s emergency website www.det.wa.edu.au/emergency.

Parents who are collecting their children are urged to follow the directions of the emergency services personnel in the area.

Students are being supervised until someone is able to collect them.

Two school bus services from Gingin District High School have been cancelled. One bus service from Lancelin Primary School has been cancelled.

Students who normally catch a bus home will be supervised at the school until someone is able to collect them.

Parents can call the North Metropolitan Education Regional Office on 9285 3600 for any additional queries.
