This award recognises a Western Australian primary school (including early childhood and special education) that has made
significant improvements in student achievement and success; and where outstanding teaching and strong leadership have created
a positive school environment with successful outcomes.

Selection criteria
Nominations must address each of the six selection criteria:

student behaviour and attendance

community engagement.

Eligibility

All Western Australian public primary schools (including early childhood and special education) are eligible. Middle schools
and District High schools can decide which category to enter (either primary or secondary). This may be based on whether the
majority of students are in Year 8 upwards or Year 7 and below.
