The 2009 marking of the WAMSE assessment tasks is scheduled for 22 August to 4 September. Qualified teachers will undertake the marking and expressions of interest are sought from eligible teachers who are interested in marking.
Participation in the marking is recognised by the Professional Learning Institute as system-endorsed professional development.
The date of submission for the Expression of interest form is still to be announced.
Approximately 25,000 assessments from each learning area are scanned and marked on screen
Markers work in groups of 6-8 with a group leader
Strict reliability and comparability measures are adopted and monitored by the group leader
Markers may choose to attend either a day or evening session. Day session times are 8.30am to 3.00pm and evening session times are 4.00pm to 9.00pm
Once the marking has begun, markers cannot change between sessions
