About the tests
WAMSE Assessment
The Western Australian Monitoring Standards in Education (WAMSE) assessment program tests students' knowledge,
skills and conceptual understandings in Science
and Society and Environment.
The WAMSE assessment:
- is based on the Western Australian curriculum
- provides a quality assessment accessible to all students, irrespective of their background or geographical location
- is administered annually and provides schools with student and school level information
- results are statistically equated to the existing WAMSE scale, which allows the comparison of performance between
different year levels and over time.
In 2010, all Western Australian public schools that have Year 5, 7 and 9 students will complete these assessments.
