The Australian Education Systems Officials Committee (AESOC) has advised that adherence to the prompt will be an additional criterion in the assessment of the 2009 NAPLAN Writing.

The data will be analysed to identify patterns in non-adherence to the prompt, with the potential to follow up with school leaders for clarification.
